IIID Tech Firms Surpass 2,650 Domestic Products, Saving 815 Million Euros in Foreign Currency

Companies within the Iran International Innovation District (IIID) have developed over 2,650 domestic technology products, generating significant foreign currency savings and expanding global market reach, the IIID Media Center reported on May 5, 2026.

Mohsen Ali Akbarian, Director General of Evaluation and Monitoring of Tech Units at Pardis Technology Park, highlighted the ecosystem's growing capacity for indigenized production. In alignment with national initiatives to boost domestic manufacturing, the park has prioritized the development of knowledge-based technologies since its inception.

Key achievements reported for the 2024 fiscal year include:

  • The addition of 146 new products to the park's portfolio, bringing the total to over 2,650.
  • A diverse product range spanning pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, communication technologies, AI-based systems, and industrial automation.
  • Total registered sales of 910 trillion IRR by member companies.
  • The export of 62 Iranian products to 31 countries worldwide.
  • An estimated 815 million euros in foreign currency savings achieved through the localization of advanced technologies.

These metrics underscore the direct role of domestic knowledge development in reducing national foreign exchange costs and expanding the international footprint of Iranian tech firms.
