The 2nd "Amin Iran" ceremony, honoring the late Supreme Leader's historical support for science and technology, was held at Vahdat Hall on May 12, 2026, with key figures emphasizing the strategic role of innovation in Iran's development, the IIID Media Center reported.

Hossein Afshin, Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, stated that the "Amin Iran" initiative, launched by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, aims to recreate and highlight the late leader's engagements with various societal sectors. He noted that while the 2025 elite meeting was canceled due to security concerns to protect the attendees, the commitment to the scientific community remains unwavering under the new leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

During the event, prominent figures in the innovation ecosystem highlighted several key themes:

  • National Authority: Saeed Sarkar, Head of the Center for Strategic Technology Development, emphasized that military, economic, and social power all root in scientific and technological authority.
  • Value Creation: Mohadeseh Haji Abdolvahab, CEO of a knowledge-based company, highlighted the late leader's long-term vision for Iran to lead in frontier sciences like biotechnology, stem cells, and nanotechnology, stressing that science must generate economic value.
  • Commercialization: Mahmoudreza Jafari, founder of Exir Nano Sina, announced the development of Iran's first intravenous nanoliposome drug for cancer treatment, citing targeted investment as the key to overcoming national challenges.
  • Technological Sovereignty: Hossein Asadi, a faculty member at Sharif University, framed the current global landscape as a "war of technology," where belief in and development of domestic tech is crucial for national security.

Speakers concluded that the continuous support for the knowledge-based ecosystem has been a primary driver in transforming Iran into a self-reliant scientific power.
